The large-scale display, designed and produced by Jeff and Wendy Werner, will begin public performances on December 1 and continue nightly through January 6.

The free shows will take place at the corner of Bluewater Boulevard and Antiqua Way, running every 30 minutes from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and until 10:30 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, and holiday eves.

This year, the Geek Lights team has selected the Junior League of the Emerald Coast’s Child Clothing Project as its sponsored charity. The all-volunteer organization provides elementary students in Okaloosa and Walton counties with complete wardrobes, books, and toys through its annual community outreach event.

“We are truly humbled, honored, and beyond grateful to be selected as the sponsored charity for Geek Lights on the Corner this year,” said Bethe Manning, president of the Junior League of the Emerald Coast.

“This generous support will help us continue to make a meaningful impact in our community and advance the mission of the Junior League of the Emerald Coast. Thank you for lighting up our corner of the world.”

A cash donation box and QR code will be available at the viewing area, with 100 percent of contributions going directly to the sponsored charity.

Community members are invited to participate in Geek Lights Community Build Days on November 8, 15, and 22, starting at 9 a.m. each day. Volunteers can sign up through the event’s Facebook page.

The Geek Lights display features thousands of synchronized lights, music, and stories controlled by custom computer programming. The show, described as a blend of art and engineering, has become one of Northwest Florida’s most anticipated holiday attractions.

Mr Werner, known as the “Northwest Florida Geek,” also authors the weekly technology Q&A column “It’s Geek to Me”, which appears on Niceville.com and in publications nationwide.
