NICEVILLE, Fla. — A veteran educator and former Teacher of the Year has been named Assistant Principal of Pryor Middle School in Fort Walton Beach.

After college, Ms Tate joined AmeriCorps, where she led the implementation of hands-on science lessons in local elementary schools. A leader in classroom instruction and innovation, Ms Tate has hosted numerous technology training sessions for fellow educators and is a seasoned grant writer, credited with securing more than $2.5 million in funding for local schools.
In 2023, she was honored as Okaloosa County’s Teacher of the Year and recognized by United Way as a “40 Under 40” honoree. She earned her second master’s degree, this time in Educational Leadership, in 2024.
Outside of her professional roles, Ms Tate enjoys running, cooking, live music, and following pop culture. She values time with family and friends and remains a passionate advocate for students, teachers, and the strength of community.
