OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office issued more than 660 citations for underage possession of alcohol during the 2025 Spring Break season, with the majority of violations occurring in the Destin area.
According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO), deputies handed out 664 notices to appear (NTA) for underage alcohol possession between March and early April.
Of those cited, 512 were college students, and 91 were high school students, the agency reported.
The vast majority — 593 citations — were issued in the Destin area, while another 71 were issued on Okaloosa Island.
This year’s total of 664 NTAs was only slightly below last year’s Spring Break count of 670, continuing a trend of high-volume enforcement aimed at reducing underage drinking.
The OCSO shared a photo of a truck bed loaded with seized alcohol containers — including beer, liquor, and colorful jugs — as a reminder of the scale of underage drinking they encountered.
Deputies urged families and students to take underage possession laws seriously and thanked those who cooperated during the spring enforcement period.
