NICEVILLE, Fla. — A local Christian dance studio invites the community to experience the gospel story through powerful original choreography during a special production this May.

Inspire Ballet and Fine Arts, based in Valparaiso, will present The Fall on Saturday, May 3 at 1 p.m. at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center in Niceville. The full-length production is open to the public and features more than 350 young dancers from Niceville, Valparaiso, Fort Walton Beach, Crestview, and surrounding areas.

According to the studio, The Fall explores three pivotal biblical events: the fall of Lucifer from Heaven, the fall of Adam and Eve in the garden, and the moment Jesus is said to have left Heaven to be born in Bethlehem.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity to bring your family to the theater and see our faith played out on stage,” said Brittany Swain, Co-Director of Inspire Ballet and Fine Arts.

Co-Director Shelley Thiess said the production has pushed dancers artistically and spiritually.

“One of the most rewarding aspects of this production is watching our young dancers embrace roles that challenge them both artistically and physically, and watching them exceed all expectations,” said Ms Thiess.

Ms Swain emphasized the faith-centered approach of the studio and its impact on students and audiences alike.

“It’s so important to have an artistic outlet in our community to show our young artists how their gifts can be used to bring honor back to God,” she said.

“We are explaining and diving into the truths of the Bible while we are in rehearsals with the dancers—basing our choreography on scripture to tell a story for the audience.”

The school’s faculty includes instructors trained in ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, hip hop, ballroom, jazz funk, and acro. Founded in 2017, Inspire Ballet and Fine Arts is located at 890 Valastics Avenue in Valparaiso.

“Anyone and everyone would enjoy this performance—even if they do not have a dancer in it,” said Inspire faculty member Mary Muir.

“The story being told is so important and will impact each and every person in the audience. The story will leave a lasting effect on you and your spirit.”
