MOSSY HEAD, Fla. — The Walton County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) announced last week that a man found in a home in Mossy Head was arrested after reportedly fleeing from deputies and being tracked by a K9 team.

On March 1, deputies responded to a residence on Jeanine Way following a report of a suspicious incident. The caller reported finding a man inside his home, who he believed to be a squatter.

When deputies arrived, the homeowner requested the man, later identified as Joshua Sohne, 40, be trespassed from the property.

However, further investigation reportedly revealed that Mr Sohne had taken and moved items inside the home. When deputies attempted to detain him, he allegedly shoved a deputy and fled on foot.

A taser was deployed but was said to be ineffective.

The Walton Correctional K-9 Team, Florida Highway Patrol, and Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to assist. A K9 track was established, and Sohne was found in the woods and taken into custody.

Mr Sohne is charged with burglary, petit theft, providing a false name to law enforcement, resisting arrest, and battery on a law enforcement officer. He was given a $23,000 bond and remained incarcerated at the time of the announcement on March 2.
