The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) charged Paul Besinger, 58, of San Antonio, Texas, on Oct. 31. According to the OCSO, Mr Besinger is accused of approaching the victim from behind while she sat on a bench, grabbing her by the hair, and putting a knife to her neck while threatening to kill her.

The victim reportedly tried to grab the knife before fleeing and calling for help. A bystander intervened, placing himself between Besinger and the victim until deputies arrived.

An OCSO deputy stopped Mr Besinger at gunpoint and took him into custody.

Besinger was reportedly angry that the victim had his vehicle towed.

During transport to the Okaloosa County Jail, Mr  Besinger reportedly stated, “I’m glad I didn’t kill her.” The victim sustained minor lacerations to her neck, chin, and hand, according to the OCSO.
