OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — Drivers in Okaloosa and Walton counties may encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads this week as crews perform construction and maintenance activities, according to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). Here is this week’s traffic advisory.

Okaloosa County:

— Brooks Bridge Replacement Project
Drivers may encounter the following traffic disruptions Monday, March 25 through Thursday, March 28, between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. for utility work and construction activities:

  • U.S. 98 eastbound and westbound alternating, intermittent lane closures between Ferry Road and Pier Road
  • Santa Rosa Boulevard east and westbound alternating lane closures from east of Amberjack Drive to Ross Marler Park

— Mid-Bay Bridge Rehabilitation Project
Drivers may encounter intermittent north and southbound lane closures on the Mid-Bay Bridge, Monday, March 25 through Thursday, March 28, from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. for construction activities.

— State Road 85 Improvements from State Road 123 to U.S. 90
Drivers may encounter intermittent State Road 85 southbound outside lane closures from Edney Avenue to Interstate 10 (I-10), Monday, March 25 through Thursday, March 28, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for utility work.

— Mary Esther Boulevard Resurfacing from U.S. 98 to Beal Parkway
Drivers may encounter intermittent north and southbound lane closures on Mary Esther Boulevard for milling and paving operations at the following locations and times:

  • Monday, March 25, through Thursday, March 28, between 7 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., from U.S. 98 to Hollywood Boulevard
  • Monday, March 25 through Saturday, March 30, from Hollywood Boulevard to Beal Parkway, between 7 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

— State Road 85 Resurfacing from north of Commerce Drive to Bill Lundy Road
Drivers may encounter intermittent State Road 85 southbound single-lane closures from Butler Road to Friendship Lane, Monday, March 25 through Friday, March 29, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for shoulder grading and sod work. Drivers may encounter intermittent State Road 85 north and southbound single-lane closures for milling and paving operations between:

  • Airport Road and Butler Road, Monday, March 25 through Friday, March 29, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Commerce Drive and Butler Road, Monday, March 25 through Thursday, March 28, from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
  • Butler Road and Bill Lundy Road, Monday, March 25 through Saturday, March 30, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

— State Road 285 Resurfacing from John Sims Parkway to State Road 293
Drivers may experience intermittent State Road 285 north and southbound lane closures between John Sims Parkway and State Road 293, Monday, March 25 through Thursday, March 28, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. for signalization work and for crews to place thermoplastic striping.

— South Ferdon Boulevard Routine Utility in Crestview
Drivers will experience intermittent lane closures between South Main Street and the I-10 westbound onramp from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, March 25, through Thursday, April 25, for power pole replacement.

Walton County:

— U.S. 98 Resurfacing from east of U.S. 331 to Peach Creek
Drivers may encounter nighttime intermittent lane closures of U.S. 98 east and westbound travel lanes from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Monday, March 25, through Thursday, March 28, for paving operations.

— State Road 85 Routine Underground Utility Maintenance at County Road 147 Intersection
Drivers will experience intermittent lane closures from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, through Thursday, March 28, for maintenance on the gas line.

— U.S. 90 Turn Lane Operations at New Harmony Road
Drivers will experience intermittent lane closures for construction activities from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, March 25, through Friday, March 29.

All activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
