Hailing from a long-standing association with the Okaloosa County school system, Richards is another example of the educational expertise fostered within the district. Her educational journey began at Walker Elementary School, where she laid the foundation for her academic success.

She then progressed to Davidson Middle School, ultimately graduating from Crestview High School, the Okaloosa County School District (OCSD) said in an announcement.

Driven by her passion for teaching, Richards pursued a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Alabama, which she proudly obtained in 2006. Following her graduation, she dedicated 12 fruitful years to educating fourth-grade students at Antioch Elementary in Crestview, where her remarkable commitment earned her the prestigious title of Teacher of the Year in 2015.

Demonstrating her unwavering dedication to her profession, Richards embarked on a new chapter in 2017 when she made the decision to join the faculty at Baker School. Over three years, she taught seventh- and eighth-grade students English Language Arts (ELA). In recognition of her exceptional skills and leadership qualities, she was appointed Dean of Students at Baker School, a role she has adeptly fulfilled for the past two years.

In 2019, Richards completed her master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of West Florida, further equipping herself to profoundly impact the educational landscape.

Richards has been married to her supportive husband, Carson Richards, for 17 years, and together, they share three wonderful sons, Michael, 14, Carter, 10, and Tucker, 6, who are all Baker Gators!
