FLORIDA – A fisheries inspection at a dock in Broward County by an officer with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) ended with citations being issued for alleged lobstering violations, the FWC has announced.

According to the FWC, when officer Marina Hammad was on patrol, she saw two people pull up to a dock with dive gear on board their vessel.

While performing a fisheries inspection, she reportedly found that several laws had been broken.

On board, Hammad allegedly found 20 lobsters, which is eight lobsters over the bag limit of six lobsters per person.

What’s more, one was reportedly egg-bearing and another was undersized.

The FWC said appropriate citations were issued for the violations, and the lobsters were kept as evidence.
