NICEVILLE, Fla — The Florida Department of Health on Friday reported 57 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County. There are six new cases in Niceville and Valparaiso.
The FDOH reports 762 vaccinations were administered in Okaloosa County the previous day. The cumulative number of people vaccinated in Okaloosa is 21,121. The number of people who have completed the vaccination series in Okaloosa is 11,862, according to FDOH data.
The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa is 18,212.
The FDOH reports the total number of people killed by COVID-19 in Okaloosa is 319, seven more deaths since the previous report.
Statewide, 6,683 new cases were reported by the FDOH. The current cumulative total is 1,856,427. The total number of Florida residents who have died from COVID-19 in the state is 29,692.
The cumulative number of hospitalizations in Okaloosa is 678, seven more since the previous day. Currently, there are 27 COVID-19 patients in Okaloosa County hospitals.

According to the FDOH, since the previous report there were 602 test results returned in Okaloosa with 91 positives. The daily positivity rate is 15.12 percent.
As a rule of thumb, the threshold for the percent positive being “too high” is five percent according to the Centers for Disease Control.
According to the FDOH, Okaloosa’s weekly positivity rate is 11.55 percent for the week ending Feb. 13, down from 18.54 percent the previous week.
Florida’s current weekly positivity rate is 6.7 percent (7-day moving average) according to Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center data.
