NICEVILLE, Fla — The Florida Department of Health Monday reported 94 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County. In Niceville and Valparaiso, there are 15 new cases.
The cumulative number of cases in Okaloosa is 9,870.
The FDOH reports the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in Okaloosa is 174, no change.
Statewide, 7,711 new cases were reported by the FDOH. The current cumulative total is 1,065,785 cases.
The cumulative number of hospitalizations in Okaloosa is 450, no change. Currently, there are 53 COVID-19 patients in Okaloosa County hospitals.

According to the FDOH, since the previous report, there were 688 test results returned in Okaloosa with 87 positives. The daily positivity rate is 12.65 percent, down from 13.35 percent the previous day.
As a rule of thumb, the threshold for the percent positive being “too high” is five percent according to the Centers for Disease Control.
According to the FDOH, Okaloosa’s weekly positivity rate is 22.68 percent for the week ending Dec. 5, up from 15.3 percent the previous week,
Florida’s current weekly positivity rate is 8.8 percent (7-day moving average) according to Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center data.
