NICEVILLE, Fla — The Florida Department of Health Friday reported 174 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County. In Niceville and Valparaiso, there are 26 new cases since yesterday.
The cumulative number of cases in Okaloosa now stands at 9,605.
The FDOH reports the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in Okaloosa County is 160, no change.
Statewide, 10,177 new cases were reported by the FDOH. The current cumulative total is 1,039,207 cases.
The cumulative number of hospitalizations in Okaloosa is 443, six since yesterday. Currently, there are 55 COVID-19 patients in Okaloosa County hospitals.
Okaloosa County drive-thru testing
According to the FDOH, since the previous report, there were 932 test results returned in Okaloosa with 172 positives. The daily positivity rate is 18.45 percent, down from 23.3 percent the previous day.
As a rule of thumb, the threshold for the percent positive being “too high” is five percent according to the Centers for Disease Control.
According to the FDOH, Okaloosa’s weekly positivity rate is 15.3 percent for the week ending Nov. 28, down from 16.39 percent the previous week,
Florida’s current weekly positivity rate is 8.3 percent (7-day moving average) according to Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center data.
