October 29 COVID-19 report for Okaloosa, Niceville

NICEVILLE, Fla — The Florida Department of Health reports today the cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County is 6,373, 65 since yesterday. The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Niceville and Valparaiso is 862.

Statewide, 4,198 new cases were reported today.

The DOH reports the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in Okaloosa County is 130, no change.

The number of cumulative hospitalizations related to coronavirus in Okaloosa is reported to be 338, five since yesterday. The FDOH reports today there are 21 COVID-19 patients in Okaloosa County hospitals.

According to the FDOH, there were 416 tests returned yesterday in Okaloosa with 66 positives. The daily positivity rate is 15.87 percent, up from 11.27 percent the previous day.

FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH IN OKALOOSA COUNTY ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL MOBILE TEST DATES

Okaloosa’s weekly positivity rate is 9.59 percent for the week ending Oct. 24, down from 9.91 percent the previous week, according to the FDOH.

Florida’s current weekly positivity rate is 5.0 percent (7-day moving average) according to Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center data.

The rate, about half of what it has been over recent weeks, is the result of revised data collection and reporting methods.

  • Fort Walton Beach, 1,996, eight since yesterday
  • Destin, 772, four since yesterday
  • Niceville, 790, five since yesterday
  • Crestview, 1,272, 18 since yesterday
  • Shalimar, 283, one since yesterday
  • Mary Esther, 305, four since yesterday
  • Eglin AFB, 89, no change
  • Laurel Hill, 63, one since yesterday
  • Baker, 132, one since yesterday
  • Holt, 45, one since yesterday
  • Valparaiso, 72, one since yesterday
  • Hurlburt Field, 12, no change
  • Milligan, 2, no change
  • Cinco Bayou, 35, no change
  • Duke Field, 1, no change
  • Missing, 444, 10 since yesterday
