NICEVILLE, Fla — The Florida Department of Health reports today the cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County is 6,146, 48 since yesterday. The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Niceville and Valparaiso is 829.
Statewide, 2,385 new cases were reported today.
The DOH reports the total number of COVID-19 -related deaths in Okaloosa County is 130, no change.
The number of cumulative hospitalizations related to coronavirus in Okaloosa is reported to be 329, three since yesterday. The FDOH reports today there are 29 COVID-19 patients in Okaloosa County hospitals.
According to the FDOH, there were 426 tests returned yesterday in Okaloosa with 48 positives. The daily positivity rate is 11.27 percent, up from 9.03 percent the previous day.
Okaloosa’s weekly positivity rate is 9.59 percent for the week ending Oct. 24, down from 9.91 percent the previous week, according to the FDOH.
Florida’s current weekly positivity rate is 10.3 percent (7-day moving average) according to Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center data.

Currently, Florida is testing 1.5 people in 1,000, ranking it among the lowest for testing in the nation according to data provided by Johns Hopkins.
