October 8 COVID-19 report for Okaloosa includes four deaths

NICEVILLE, Fla — The Florida Department of Health reports this morning the cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County is 5,265, 33 since yesterday morning. The death toll in Okaloosa now is 122, four more deaths reported since yesterday.

Sixty deaths in Okaloosa are related to long-term care facilities, according to the DOH.

Statewide, 3,306 new cases were reported since yesterday.

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Niceville and Valparaiso is 729.

FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH IN OKALOOSA COUNTY ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL MOBILE TEST DATES

The number of cumulative hospitalizations related to coronavirus in Okaloosa is 309, one since yesterday. On Tuesday, there were 17 COVID-19 patients in Okaloosa County hospitals; five in ICU beds.

According to the state DOH, yesterday there were 534 tests returned in Okaloosa with 31 positives. The daily positivity rate was 5.81 percent, down from 8.28 percent the previous day.

Okaloosa’s weekly positivity rate was 8.17 percent for the week ending Oct. 3, slightly up from 8.0 percent the previous week. The state’s positivity rate for the week was 4.66 percent

  • Fort Walton Beach, 1,673, six since yesterday
  • Destin, 669, five since yesterday
  • Niceville, 669, six since yesterday
  • Crestview, 1,082, four since yesterday
  • Shalimar, 249, two since yesterday
  • Mary Esther, 253, three since yesterday
  • Eglin AFB, 81, no change
  • Laurel Hill, 49, no change
  • Baker, 106, no change
  • Holt, 40, no change
  • Valparaiso, 60, no change
  • Hurlburt Field, 11, two since yesterday
  • Milligan, 2, no change
  • Cinco Bayou, 34, no change
  • Duke Field, 1, no change
  • Missing, 242, four since yesterday
