NICEVILLE, Fla — Voters living within the city limits of Niceville on Tuesday will be electing a new mayor and two new members of the city council.
Judy Boudreaux and Daniel Henkel, both current members of the city council, are running for mayor. Those seeking to replace the pair on the city council are Suraj Patel and Abner Williams, both running for City Council Group 3, and Carl T. Donahoo, Stephen Shelton, and Rachelle Waltz, who are seeking the Group 4 seat.
Balloting will take place July 21, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., at the Niceville Community Center to allow for ample social distancing.
The special election in Niceville was made necessary by the death of longtime Niceville Mayor Randall Wise, who died in January. It was originally scheduled to take place on April 14 but was later postponed for three months and rescheduled for July 21 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
