June 5 COVID-19 cases update for Okaloosa, Niceville

Okaloosa County COVID-19 Daily Report

NICEVILLE, FLA, JUNE 5, 2020 — The Florida Department of Health reports this morning the cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County is 250, nine more since yesterday morning. The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Niceville is 29.

NICEVILLE, Fla — The Florida Department of Health reports this morning the cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County is 250, nine more since yesterday morning. The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Niceville is 29.

The number of hospitalizations related to coronavirus in Okaloosa is 42, one more since yesterday.

The number of deaths in Okaloosa County remains unchanged at six.

Over the past two weeks, Okaloosa has recorded 60 new COVID-19 cases and includes toddlers to seniors. Hospitalizations over the same period has risen from 30 to 41.

Since the beginning of May, the number of people going to emergency rooms in Okaloosa County with COVID-19-like symptoms has more than tripled from six per week to 19 per week.

Here’s the latest breakdown by city in Okaloosa (note that the city is not always reported as part of the initial notification and may be missing while the case is being investigated):

  • Fort Walton Beach, 98, three more since yesterday
  • Destin, 37, no change
  • Niceville, 29, no change
  • Crestview, 34, no change
  • Shalimar, 17, three more since yesterday
  • Mary Esther, 15, no change
  • Eglin AFB, 4, no change
  • Laurel Hill, 4, one more since yesterday
  • Baker, 2, no change
