NICEVILLE, Fla. — The City of Niceville’s annual Easter Egg hunt—its popular Egg Dash—returns Saturday, April 12, with thousands of colorful eggs filled with candy, toys, and prize certificates for children eight and under.
Now in its 38th year, the fast-paced Easter tradition will begin at 11 a.m. sharp at the Niceville Recreation Complex, 200 Campbell Drive.
Children will dash across the softball fields collecting eggs placed in plain sight, not hidden, making it easier and more exciting for all ages.
Age groups are divided by field: 0-2, 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8. The older the group, the quicker the dash — and the faster the eggs disappear. Some eggs contain certificates that can be redeemed for larger prizes.
Parents are strongly encouraged to arrive early. The dash is over in minutes once it begins. Children should bring baskets, and a large turnout is expected.
In case of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled for April 19.
The Niceville Easter Egg Hunt is considered one of the community’s longest-running youth events. It remains a seasonal favorite for families in what’s known as the Nicest Little City in the South.
