4th of July Valparaiso Fl Niceville

The City of Valparaiso has a full day of activities planned in Lincoln Park for the Fourth of July beginning with the 38th Annual Duathlon (5K run/200m swim) at 7 a.m. for all ages.

Various activities for the kids are to include a train ride, a bounce house and a waterslide during the day. Lincoln Park has a nice picnic area and a sandy beach for swimming, canoeing, and other water related activities for afternoon fun.

At dusk the Twin Cities Fireworks Show over Boggy Bayou will take place . . . so plan to bring the entire family and spend the day.

At 7:05 a.m. the 5K walkers begin their competition. The Family Fun Run begins at 8 a.m. and there is no charge for this event (sorry, no pets allowed).

At 10 a.m. the Paddleboard Race begins.  This competition is for participants 12 years of age and older, and permits surf-style and race-style boards.  1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of the Duathlon, 5K walk and Paddleboard Race will receive prizes broken down by various categories.

Detailed information for all events and registration forms for the races can be found at  http://www.valp.org/community/events.html.  The Duathlon, 5K Walk, and Paddle Board Race has a $20 registration fee if received by June 24, 2016 ($25 cash/check after the 24th and on race day).  Drawings for door prizes will take place after races.  Participants will receive an official 4th of July t-shirt if they register by June 24.
