The annual run/walk and fun run benefits Niceville High School Track and Field, and C.A.L.M. House in Niceville.

The 2018 Ugly Sweater 5k Run is among the local events ushering in the Christmas season in Niceville. It will take place on Saturday, December 8, 9 a.m., in Bluewater.

The annual run/walk and fun run benefits Niceville High School Track and Field, and CALM House in Niceville.

The race will start and finish at Hurricane Grill and Wings. The 5K Run and Walk is open to all ages.  It begins at 9 a.m., and the 1-mile fun run for children 12 and under begins at 10 a.m.

There will be chances to win prizes with raffles and a costume contest (while the theme is “Ugly Christmas Sweater,” your most festive holiday outfit will do nicely). Join others in the community for fun, music, and tackiness at this USA Track & Field sanctioned event.

Early registration is $30 (by Nov 20). Regular registration is $35 from Nov 21- Dec 6 at 1 p.m. Late registration is $40 in person at packet pickup or morning of the race.

Online registration closes at 1 p.m. December 6. In person registration ($40) December 6 from 5 p.m. -7 p.m. at Niceville High School cafeteria, or December 8 from 7:30-8:30 a.m. at Hurricane Grill and Wings.

The cost for the Children’s 1 Mile Fun Run is $20 and includes a commemorative medal and t-shirt for all participants.

Official timing will be provided. Medals will be awarded for top finishers in age groups TBD. T-shirt sizes guaranteed for those who register online by November 30.

Packet pickup Thursday, December 6, 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Niceville High School cafeteria.  You may also stay for pasta dinner if you would like (tickets available at checkout)

You can sleep in but still support the cause.  You can make a donation without registering for the race. Just click the “donate” tab from the menu.
