NWF State College welding named Top Educational Institution

These awards are given annually to recognize the nation’s top schools, businesses and individuals within the industrial, educational and research communities that have made exceptional contributions to the overall advancement of welding and other allied industrial processes.

Northwest Florida State College Welding has received the honor of Top Educational Institution from the American Welding Society (AWS).

Scottie Smith, Professor of Welding, and Dr. Devin Stephenson, NWF State College President, accepted the award on the College’s behalf at the Excellence in Welding Awards Ceremony at the 2018 FABTECH expo in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 7, 2018.

“We are extremely proud of the great work that Scottie Smith is doing to place the NWF State College Welding Department at the forefront of welding education,” said Dr. Devin Stephenson, President. “Scottie’s vision for our facility and his quality teaching are why Northwest Florida State College was recognized as the Top Educational Institution in the Nation by the American Welding Society.”
