Step back in time and learn how pioneers worked and lived in the Niceville area at the 2019 Pioneer Day in Niceville, Saturday, November 9, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park. Family activities will include candle-dipping, rag doll making, butter churning, shingle making, and demonstrations on campfire cooking, blacksmithing, and beekeeping.
NICEVILLE, Fla — Step back in time and learn how pioneers worked and lived in the Niceville area at the 2019 Pioneer Day in Niceville, Saturday, November 9, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park.
The annual Pioneer Day Niceville event, sponsored by Friends of the Emerald Coast State Parks, features more than 30 exhibits and hand-on crafts projects.
Family activities will include candle-dipping, rag doll making, butter churning, shingle making, and demonstrations on campfire cooking, blacksmithing, and beekeeping.
Pioneer Day displays will also include early folk toys, fishing tackle, and a 19th-century chuck wagon.
Food is available for purchase.
Admission is $5 per car with up to eight people. Please leave pets at home.
In the event of rain, Pioneer Day will be held on Sunday, Nov. 10, from 12 noon to 3 p.m.
