The School Resource Officer serving Niceville High School, Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Demeika McClendon, has been named Florida’s SRO of the Year by the Florida Association of School Resource Officers.
Deputy McClendon, a Niceville High graduate, received the honor this week at the 38th Annual FASRO Training Conference underway in Orlando Florida.
“We could not be more proud of Deputy McClendon, who is one of the most pro-active, energetic and highly skilled SROs you will find anywhere,” said Okaloosa County Sheriff Larry Ashley. “The students, administrators,
teachers, and parents constantly sing her praises for her commitment to their safety and to helping motivate and shape the lives of the teens at NHS.”
