According to the Honor H.E.R. Foundation, the exhibit was created to highlight the service and sacrifices of women veterans whose contributions have often been overlooked throughout American history.

The exhibit’s reveal comes during the nation’s 250th anniversary year and will feature portraits that showcase the lives, personalities, and experiences of women veterans beyond their military service.

The June 13 event will include 16 newly added portraits representing veterans from different military branches and eras of service. It is free and open to the public.

Visitors will also have an opportunity to learn about the women’s personal stories, including their military service, transition to civilian life, and accomplishments after serving their country.

The event is also intended to provide a community gathering focused on recognition, healing, and increasing awareness of the experiences of women veterans.

“As our country celebrates 250 years, it is impossible to tell the American story without telling theirs,” the Honor H.E.R. Foundation said.

“These women stood watch, carried the weight of duty, and protected freedoms they were not always fully granted. This exhibit is our promise that they will be seen, honored, and remembered.”

The Honor H.E.R. Foundation said the exhibit serves as both an artistic tribute and a reminder that honoring veterans requires ongoing support and commitment.
