WALTON COUNTY, Fla. — The Walton County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) announced that Deann Bertram has earned the Certified Jail Manager certification, a national credential recognizing advanced excellence in jail operations and leadership.
Ms Bertram has served WCSO for more than 14 years, becoming a key part of inmate services and rehabilitation efforts within the Walton County Jail. In her current role as Programs and Classification Manager, she oversees vocational and educational programs, including the Commercial Driver’s License course, Heavy Equipment Operators Course, and the Forklift Operators program.
According to WCSO, the CJM certification is awarded by the American Jail Association through the Jail Manager Certification Commission and is reserved for experienced correctional professionals who meet rigorous eligibility requirements, including advanced experience, education, and the successful completion of a comprehensive national exam.

“Her commitment to professionalism and her passion for offering meaningful opportunities to those in our care embody the very best of this agency. Earning the CJM certification only further affirms what we already know; that Deann is among the most dedicated and skilled corrections professionals in the country.”
WCSO stated that Ms Bertram joins an elite group of jail managers nationwide who have demonstrated advanced competency, leadership, and a strong commitment to the field of corrections.
