The advisory applies to Garniers Beach Park at 257 Beachview Drive NE in Fort Walton Beach. According to the department, tests completed on Tuesday, September 2, indicated the water did not meet the recreational water quality criteria for Enterococcus bacteria recommended by the Florida Department of Health.

DOH-Okaloosa advises residents and visitors to be cautious when swimming or wading in the affected area. Test results can be found at FloridaHealth.gov/HealthyBeaches.

For more information, the public can call 850-833-9247 or visit Okaloosa.FloridaHealth.gov.

The Florida Department of Health, accredited by the Public Health Accreditation Board, works statewide and locally to protect, promote, and improve the health of Florida communities.
