FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health in Okaloosa County (DOH-Okaloosa) has issued a water quality advisory for Garniers Beach Park after recent testing showed bacteria levels above state standards.
The advisory applies to Garniers Beach Park at 257 Beachview Drive NE in Fort Walton Beach. According to the department, tests completed on Tuesday, September 2, indicated the water did not meet the recreational water quality criteria for Enterococcus bacteria recommended by the Florida Department of Health.
DOH-Okaloosa advises residents and visitors to be cautious when swimming or wading in the affected area. Test results can be found at FloridaHealth.gov/HealthyBeaches.
