This comprehensive advisory compiles FDOT’s latest updates for Bay, Walton, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, and Escambia counties, ensuring you have the most up-to-date information before you hit the road.
BAY COUNTY:
— U.S. 98, west of Tyndall Drive-Airey Avenue to east of Louisiana Avenue
U.S. 98 drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures between Tyndall Drive- Airey Avenue, and Louisiana Avenue through the end of August.
— U.S. 98, Widening from Mandy Lane to east of Nautilus Street
U.S. 98 drivers will encounter alternating lane closures between Hills Road and Nautilus Street from Sunday, Aug. 4, to Tuesday, Aug. 6, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Crews will be performing drainage work, installing a low-profile barrier wall, and striping the roadway.
— U.S. 98 (Panama City Beach Parkway), Resurfacing from Walton County Line to Heather Drive
Drivers will encounter nighttime intermittent lane closures for asphalt paving activities from Sunday, Aug. 4, through Thursday, Aug. 8.
— Gulf Coast Parkway, Construction from U.S. 98 (Tyndall Parkway) to Star Avenue
Drivers may encounter a lane closure on westbound U.S. 98 (Tyndall Parkway) from 11th Street to Tram Road from Monday, Aug. 5, through Saturday, Aug. 10, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. The lane closure is necessary to allow oversized equipment to access the Gulf Coast Parkway construction site. — U.S. 98, Resurfacing from Josie Road to Florida Place Southeast
Drivers may encounter intermittent U.S. 98 lane closures between Josie Road in Mary Esther and Florida Place Southeast in Fort Walton Beach from Sunday, Aug. 4, through Thursday, Aug. 8, between 8 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. for signalization work and paving operations.
— U.S. 98, Tree Trimming Operations from Mary Esther Drive to Makron Drive in Mary Esther
Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2, and Monday, Aug. 5, for tree trimming operations.
SANTA ROSA COUNTY:
— U.S. 98, Widening from Bayshore Road to Portside Drive
Motorists will encounter the following traffic impacts:
- Median and turn-lane closures from Bayshore Road to Tiger Lake Drive
- Intermittent lane closures and additional median closures will be in effect between Bayshore Road and Tiger Lake Drive from Sunday, Aug. 4, through Friday, Aug. 9, from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for stormwater drainage improvements and paving operations
- Beginning 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, motorists traveling westbound along U.S. 98 will encounter a new traffic configuration as lanes are shifted north from east of College Parkway to Ramblewood Drive
- Additionally, motorists traveling eastbound along U.S. 98 will encounter a new traffic configuration from the beginning of the project to Villa Woods Circle as lanes will be shifted south. These traffic patterns are required for crews to perform necessary roadway widening operations in the median
ESCAMBIA COUNTY:
No construction-related traffic impacts are anticipated for this week.
