WALTON COUNTY, Fla. — Drivers in Walton County may encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads this week as crews perform construction and maintenance activities, according to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
Here is this week’s traffic advisory for Walton County:
— U.S. 98 Pedestrian Underpass at Inlet Beach
Drivers may encounter U.S. 98 east and westbound single-lane closures near the C.R. 30A intersection, Monday, Jan. 29 through Friday, Feb. 2, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for milling and paving operations.
— U.S. 98 Widening from Mack Bayou Road to County Road 30A
Drivers may encounter intermittent, alternating U.S. 98 east and westbound lane closures between Mack Bayou Road and C.R. 30A, Sunday, Jan. 28 through Thursday, Feb. 1, from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for milling and paving operations.
— U.S. 98 Resurfacing from east of U.S. 331 to Peach Creek
Drivers may encounter nighttime intermittent U.S. 98 east and westbound lane closures, Sunday, Jan. 28 through Thursday, Feb. 1, from 4 p.m. to 6 a.m. for paving operations.
— Western Lake Bridge Replacement
Drivers will encounter intermittent, single-lane closures of the C.R. 30A east and westbound travel lanes over Western Lake Bridge, Monday, Jan. 29 through Friday, Feb. 2, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. In this configuration, east and westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane, with temporary signals directing traffic through the work zone. These closures are required for crews to place temporary asphalt in preparation for the next phase of construction.
— U.S. 331 Turn Lane Operations at County Road 282 (Segrest Road)
Drivers will encounter intermittent daytime lane closures from Monday, Jan. 29, through Friday, Feb. 2, from turn lane operations.
— State Road 85 Routine Utility Maintenance South of One Bridge Road in Paxton
Drivers will encounter intermittent lane closures Wednesday, Jan. 31, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. for routine utility maintenance.
All activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
