MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla. — Two men from North Carolina have been arrested after a violent late-night assault on a store employee in the parking lot of a Circle K, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office announced.
The attack occurred just after 10 p.m. on May 21 at the Circle K on Scenic Gulf Drive. Deputies arrived to find a clerk with visible injuries, including a deep cut above his eye and multiple abrasions. The victim told deputies he was leaving work when he encountered two young men loitering near his truck.
One of the suspects reportedly asked the clerk for a ride. When he refused, both men are said to have attacked him — one hitting him in the face with a crushed aluminum can, while the other struck him repeatedly from behind. As the clerk tried to flee, the men allegedly began throwing items from the back of his truck, including a vehicle engine starter weighing more than ten pounds.
Deputies canvassed the area, reviewed surveillance footage, and collected witness statements. By the following afternoon, they had identified the suspects as 20-year-old Adrian Robert Gonzales and 20-year-old Daniel Guy Miller, both of North Carolina.
The two were taken into custody around 1 p.m. on May 22 without incident. Both have been charged with aggravated battery and were booked into the Walton County Jail.
