NICEVILLE, Fla. — A community tree dedication ceremony will be held April 14 in Niceville to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States, the City of Niceville has announced.
The event is scheduled for 3 p.m. at 104 E John Sims Parkway, at the retention pond site near the intersection of John Sims Parkway and State Road 85 North. It is being organized in partnership with the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), and will include comments from local leaders and DAR representatives.
The Nation’s 250th anniversary is July 4, 2026. It is being marked with a year-long celebration.
“As we mark this significant milestone in our nation’s history, it is fitting that we not only reflect on our achievements but also take tangible steps towards a greener future,” said Mayor Dan Henkel.
“The tree planting symbolizes growth, resilience, and our commitment to preserving our heritage for future generations.”
Community members are invited to attend, take part in the dedication, and enjoy light refreshments during the ceremony.
