NICEVILLE, Fla. — A traffic stop in Niceville led to the arrest of a man now facing multiple felony drug charges, according to the Niceville Police Department.
The Niceville Police Department said Inspector Teets conducted the stop at 9:21 a.m. Jan. 16 on 32nd Street after reportedly observing a vehicle fail to obey a posted stop sign and discard litter.
The driver was identified as Donel Demetrius McClain, 40.
During the stop, K9 Kodi conducted an exterior sniff of the vehicle and reportedly alerted, which police said provided probable cause for a search.
According to the Niceville Police Department, the search resulted in the seizure of 11.8 grams of fentanyl, 2.87 grams of methamphetamine, 2.9 grams of marijuana, three fentanyl patches, 21 prescription pills, and 55.5 unidentified pills.
Mr McClain has been charged with trafficking in fentanyl, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a harmful new legend drug without a prescription, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of probation.
Police said Mr McClain is currently being held at the Okaloosa County Jail without bond.
