Traffic disruptions planned this week on U.S. 98, S.R. 85, U.S. 331, I-10

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — Roadwork on major routes in Okaloosa and Walton counties is expected to cause nighttime delays and lane closures this week, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

OKALOOSA COUNTY

— Brooks Bridge Replacement Project
U.S. 98 lane closures are planned between Ferry Road and Pier Road in Fort Walton Beach, as well as on Santa Rosa Boulevard from Amberjack Drive to Ross Marler Park, May 4–8, from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., for utility work and construction activities.

— Interstate 10 Wilkerson Bluff Road Bridge Repairs
Alternating lane closures on I-10 between mile markers 50 and 52 are scheduled for May 4–5, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., for paving operations.

— U.S. 98 Resurfacing
Intermittent lane closures on U.S. 98, between Josie Road in Mary Esther and Florida Place Southeast in Fort Walton Beach, are expected May 4–8, between 8 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., for paving operations and thermoplastic striping.

— State Road 85 Resurfacing and Safety Improvements
Nighttime lane closures are planned on State Road 85 between Redstone Avenue and U.S. 90 from May 4–8, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., for concrete work.

— Interstate 10 Bridge Inspection
Eastbound and westbound lane closures are expected on I-10 east of State Road 85 on May 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for a routine bridge inspection.

WALTON COUNTY

— U.S. 331 Resurfacing
Two northbound turn lanes are temporarily closed at the U.S. 90 intersection in DeFuniak Springs. One lane remains open for both left- and right-turn movements. This traffic pattern will remain in place through mid-June. Additional intermittent lane closures are scheduled from south of I-10 to U.S. 90, May 4–8, from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., for paving operations.

— Western Lake Bridge Replacement Project
Lane closures on County Road 30A over the Western Lake Bridge are expected May 5–8, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., for delivery of construction materials. Eastbound and westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane, with temporary signals directing traffic.

— U.S. 331 Bridge Rehabilitation
Intermittent lane closures are scheduled on the U.S. 331 bridge over Choctawhatchee Bay, May 5–8, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., for bridge repair work.

— U.S. 331 Bridge Inspection
Southbound lane closures are expected north of State Road 20 on May 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for a routine bridge inspection.

All construction activities are weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. FDOT urges drivers to use caution in work zones, especially at night, and to be alert for workers and equipment entering or exiting the roadway.
