Traffic alerts issued for U.S. 98, State Road 85, I-10 this week

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — Several major roadways in Okaloosa and Walton counties will see overnight construction and lane closures this week as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) continues resurfacing and safety improvements on key corridors.

OKALOOSA COUNTY—

Brooks Bridge Replacement Project
U.S. 98 alternating lane closures between Ferry Road and Pier Road, and on Santa Rosa Boulevard from east of Amberjack Drive to Ross Marler Park. Work takes place nightly from Sunday, June 22, through Thursday, June 26, between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

— Interstate 10 Resurfacing
Alternating lane closures on I-10 between mile markers 50 and 60 for striping operations. Work is scheduled nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

— U.S. 98 Resurfacing in Mary Esther and Fort Walton Beach
Intermittent lane closures from Josie Road to Florida Place Southeast between 8 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. for signal work and thermoplastic striping.

— State Road 85 Resurfacing and Safety Improvements
Expect intermittent lane closures from Hospital Drive to U.S. 90 nightly from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for paving.

— State Road 85 Improvements from State Road 123 to Hospital Drive
Lane closures from south of Shoal River to P.J. Adams Parkway for guardrail installation between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

— State Road 85 Utility Maintenance from 10th Avenue to Gardner Drive
Intermittent daytime closures from Friday, June 20, through Thursday, June 26, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. for power pole replacement.

— I-10 Bridge Maintenance over Yellow River
Westbound lane closures west of State Road 85 on Tuesday, June 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for routine maintenance.

WALTON COUNTY


— U.S. 331 Resurfacing from south of I-10 to U.S. 90
Northbound right-turn lane closed at the U.S. 90 intersection. One left-turn lane and a shared turn lane remain open.
Westbound U.S. 90 outside travel lane closed between 11th Street and U.S. 331. One westbound lane and left-turn lane remain open.

— U.S. 98 and U.S. 331 Intersection Improvements
Paving work will cause intermittent overnight lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

All activities are weather dependent and may be rescheduled due to inclement conditions. FDOT urges drivers to use caution in work zones, especially at night, and watch for crews and equipment.
