NICEVILLE, Fla. — The Niceville Police Department has been named one of Florida’s top three law enforcement agencies for traffic safety by the Florida Law Enforcement Liaison (LEL) Program.
The statewide recognition highlights the department’s focus on reducing crashes through education, enforcement, and community outreach.
“We’re honored to receive this distinction,” the department said in an announcement. “It reflects our commitment to keeping Niceville safe and to building strong connections with the community we serve.”
The Florida Law Enforcement Liaison (LEL) Program, funded by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), supports and partners with law enforcement agencies statewide to enhance traffic safety initiatives and recognize agencies with outstanding traffic safety programs through the annual Florida Law Enforcement Traffic Safety Challenge.
By raising awareness and promoting law enforcement engagement in traffic safety, the program’s ultimate goal is to reduce crashes, fatalities, and serious injuries on Florida’s roadways.
This honor places Niceville Police alongside some of the state’s most respected agencies, underscoring the work of officers and the support they receive from the community.
