Unveiled in October 2022, the mural is located along John Sims Parkway at the intersection of Evans Street, just across from the entrance to Turkey Creek Park. Measuring eight feet tall by 40 feet wide, it was created to reflect Niceville’s history through a visual timeline surrounded by water imagery and anchored by the word “Niceville” in bold yellow lettering.

The artwork was designed by Niceville artist Janae Erickson, whose concept was selected from several local submissions and approved by the Niceville City Council.

City workers constructed the wall specifically for the project, while Accent Signs of Niceville digitally printed and installed the mural. The finished piece quickly became a local landmark, greeting drivers entering the city and celebrating the community’s roots, including a nod to the 1868 establishment of mail service to Boggy Bayou.

As the mural reaches its third year, it continues to represent the collaborative spirit that defines Niceville, highlighting a partnership between local artists, businesses, and city leadership dedicated to honoring the area’s story.
