According to the OCSO, its deputies responded to reports of suspicious activity around 5 a.m. Tuesday after a homeowner on Richburg Lane said he noticed a flashlight outside his window and reportedly saw two teens burglarizing his pickup truck.

When the man went outside, he said the pair ran off.

When he viewed his home security video, he told deputies he could see two males had been inside his truck, and three other teens appeared to be acting as look-outs in the road, the OCSO said.

The victim said he was missing a small amount of cash from his truck. His wife’s vehicle was allegedly missing keys and a debit card.

A short time later, deputies said they spotted five teens in the Old Spanish Trail Park off Stillwell Boulevard. All reportedly tried to flee, but with the assistance of the Crestview Police Department, the OCSO said four were taken into custody.

A 16-year-old burglary suspect was captured later Tuesday morning after reportedly stealing a car and fleeing from OCSO deputies.

The teen is accused of burglarizing a business trailer on Live Oak Church Road, where he allegedly took multiple items, including a violin. When confronted by an employee, the boy reportedly threw the items back into the trailer and ran into nearby woods.

According to the OCSO, the 16-year-old is charged with burglary, grand theft of a motor vehicle, fleeing and eluding lights and sirens, and battery on a law enforcement officer, reportedly for spitting on a deputy.

A 15-year-old male suspect is charged with burglary, petty theft, and resisting an officer, the OCSO said.

According to the OCSO, its investigation is continuing.
