OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. —Local voters reaffirmed their trust in Okaloosa County Sheriff Eric Aden‘s leadership and vision as he won his first bid for reelection in the August 20, 2024, Primary Election, securing 66.58% of the vote.
Aden, who ran unopposed to become sheriff in 2020, faced two challengers this year in a universal primary open to all registered voters.
Sheriff Aden ran on his record since taking office in 2021, highlighting significant achievements such as reducing violent crime by 26%, increasing transparency within the department, and improving officer training programs.
Ronald Livingston, who finished second, garnered 23.17% of the vote, while Edward “Eddie” Perillo received 10.25%. All candidates in the race were registered Republicans.
