The public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, October 21, beginning with an open house from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by a formal presentation and public comment period starting at 6 p.m.

Citizens can attend virtually via nwflroads.com/calendar or in person at Destin City Hall Annex, 4100 Indian Bayou Trail. Pre-registration is required for virtual attendance and encouraged for in-person participants.

According to the FDOT, the hearing will focus on plans to permanently close the median at Regions Way as part of the ongoing U.S. 98 resurfacing project from Paraiso Boulevard to Regions Way. The change is intended to improve safety and traffic flow along a corridor that serves about 53,500 drivers daily.
