NICEVILLE, Fla. — A 74-year-old Niceville woman was killed Saturday after being struck by a vehicle while walking in a marked pedestrian lane, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 12:25 p.m. on Bluewater Boulevard at Caribbean Way.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, an 86-year-old Niceville woman was driving a sedan northbound on Bluewater Boulevard when the vehicle reportedly drifted into the pedestrian lane.

Troopers said the 74-year-old woman was walking northbound within the pedestrian lane when the right front of the sedan struck her.

The pedestrian died as a result of her injuries, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The 86-year-old driver was not injured.

No additional details have been released.
