Deputies responded to a frantic 911 call reporting a domestic disturbance near County Highway 3280 and Smokehouse Lake Road. When they arrived, they found the victim on the side of the road.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) said Randall Stewart, 43, kneed the woman in the stomach after being told she was eight weeks pregnant. He then fled into the nearby woods with the keys to their vehicle.

Walton Correctional K-9 teams were called in to assist. Stewart was reportedly tracked and apprehended shortly after.

He was transported to the Walton County Jail and charged with aggravated battery on a pregnant victim. Mr Stewart also had felony warrants out of Bay County and Texas, the WCSO said.

He received a $25,000 bond.
