SHALIMAR, Fla. — Okaloosa County is accepting applications from residents interested in serving on the Keep Okaloosa Beautiful Advisory Committee (KOBAC), the county announced.
The Board of County Commissioners (BCC) will appoint up to five volunteers to serve two-year terms on the committee, with service beginning immediately after appointment. Applications are due no later than 5 p.m. CST on August 19, 2025.
KOBAC was created in 2023 by the BCC through Resolution No. 23-131. The committee’s purpose is to make recommendations on public outreach and education efforts related to waste reduction, recycling, litter prevention, and local beautification.
The committee is overseen by the county’s Environmental Resource Coordinator and operates as an affiliate of Keep Florida Beautiful and Keep America Beautiful.
