NICEVILLE, Fla. — Ghosts, goblins, and giggles await! The Niceville Police Department (NPD) has announced that trick-or-treating hours will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Halloween night, Thursday, October 31.

The NPD is setting specific hours and providing safety tips so trick-or-treaters can enjoy themselves while taking precautions to stay safe.

Safety Tips for a Spooktacular Nigh include:

  1. Brighten Up Those Costumes: Dark costumes may look scarier, but adding a touch of reflective tape or carrying a glow stick will help everyone stay visible. Let those costumes shine!
  2. Stick to the Porches with Lights On: Trick-or-treating pros know that porch lights mean “Welcome!” Remind kids to avoid homes without a light on to keep the evening safe and easy to navigate.
  3. Snack Inspection First, Gobbling Later: Before diving into that candy stash, bring along a snack from home. Inspect all treats before the first bite—it’s better to be safe than haunted!

Remember, stay in well-lit areas, cross streets carefully, and make this Halloween one to remember.
