Niceville, Valparaiso ranked among Florida’s safest cities

The safety analysis found that Niceville (with a population of 15,380) emerged on the list ranked at #31, with an average safety score of 80.22 and a rate of 1.04 violent crimes per 1,000 citizens. The analysis found that Valparaiso (with a population of 5,081) emerged on the list ranked at #12, with an average safety score of 84.37 and a rate of 1.57 violent crimes per 1,000 citizens.

NICEVILLE, Fla — Safety First: Perhaps you’re looking for a change of scenery, or maybe your job has offered you a promotion in a different city… Whatever it is, when considering packing up your life and moving to a different place, safety should be your number one priority.

Security-based review, comparison and news site, Security Baron, analyzed FBI rankings of crime rates to find out what the top 50 safest cities are in Florida, and what their safety score is.

The analysis found that Niceville (with a population of 15,380) emerged on the list ranked at #31, with an average safety score of 80.22 and a rate of 1.04 violent crimes per 1,000 citizens. The city also has a citizen-to-officer ratio of 1.5 per 1,000 people and a rate of 16.25 property crimes per 1,000 citizens.

The analysis found that Valparaiso (with a population of 5,081) emerged on the list ranked at #12, with an average safety score of 84.37 and a rate of 1.57 violent crimes per 1,000 citizens. The city also has a citizen-to-officer ratio of 2.36 per 1,000 people and a rate of 10.23 property crimes per 1,000 citizens.

It was also found that the safest city in Florida is Marco Island with a safety score of 87.5 and an average income of $72,905. Marco Island has a rate of 0.61 violent crimes per 1,000 citizens – it’s highly unlikely you’ll be a victim of crime here. The city also has a citizen-to-officer ratio of 1.88 per 1,000 people and there are 8,560 households here on average.

By comparison, it was found that Milton ranked last on the list, with a safety score of 76.71. The city has a rate of 2.4 violent crimes per 1,000 citizens, along with a citizen-to-officer ratio of 1.7 per 1,000 people.
