The Kiwanis Club of Niceville-Valparaiso will fly an American flag at your home on President’s Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day through Sept. 11, Veteran’s Day, and Martin Luther King Day. The cost of the American Flag Display Program is $42 per year.

Show your patriotic spirit this Flag Day and July Fourth – and all patriotic holidays throughout the year – by proudly flying the American flag at your Niceville area home. The Kiwanis Club of Niceville-Valparaiso stands ready to help with its unique American Flag Display Program.

The American Flag Display Program presents an easy, affordable way to fly the flag at your home on each of our nation’s patriotic holidays without ever owning a flag and never putting up a flagpole.

For $42 per year (tax-deductible contribution), the Kiwanis Club of Niceville-Valparaiso will fly a flag at your home on President’s Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day through Sept. 11, Veteran’s Day, and Martin Luther King Day.

The Kiwanis Club provides the flag, puts it up before the holiday, takes it down after the holiday, and takes care of all maintenance and storage.

The Kiwanis Club of Niceville-Valparaiso Flag Program uses sewn American flags that measure three feet by five feet. Each is flown on a metal pole inserted in a PVC in-ground holder. The flagpoles and American flags are put up a day or two before each of the seven designated patriotic holidays and are removed two or three days following the holiday.

The flags, which are sewn (not printed) and measure three feet by five feet, are flown on a metal pole inserted in a PVC in-ground holder. Club members sink the flag holder in the ground — wherever the homeowner wishes — and cap it off at ground level. It is installed using a handheld power auger, so there is no digging, and lawns are not damaged. It is installed when the homeowner signs up to take part in the flag display program.

The American flags are put up a day or two before each of the seven designated patriotic holidays and are removed two or three days following the holiday.

The American Flag Display Program is a community fund-raiser allowing Niceville-Valparaiso residents to show their pride in America and honor our troops and fallen heroes. While you are displaying your patriotic pride and spirit, you are also helping the Kiwanis Club of Niceville-Valparaiso support youth-oriented civic activities in the Niceville-Valparaiso area. Among them are high school and middle school programs aimed at getting students involved in public service.

If you would like to take part in the program and proudly fly the flag at your home, please email your name, address and phone number to nvkiwanisflags@gmail.com. A club member will contact you within two business days.
