NICEVILLE, Fla. — Kaleb Carter of Niceville High School was recognized as the 2022 Class 3A 199 pounds State Weightlifting Champion at the May 9, 2022, School Board meeting.

Carter, a senior at NHS, bench-pressed 360 pounds and clean and jerked 305 pounds, spearheading a state runner-up finish last month for Niceville High School, the best in school history.

Additionally, Carter has excelled as a student at Niceville High School with a 4.1 weighted GPA.

He plans to attend the University of Southern Mississippi and major in biochemistry with goals to become a radiologist.

Carter is the first state champion weightlifter at Niceville High School since 2011.
