NICEVILLE, Fla. — Two Niceville High School seniors have been named winners of the 2025 All Sports Association Scholastic Awards, a prestigious honor recognizing student-athletes who excel in academics and athletics across Okaloosa, Walton, and Santa Rosa counties.
Maxwell Diehl and Sophie Broutin received the announcement during a gathering at Niceville High School’s media center, which was attended by family, peers, school staff, and representatives from the All Sports Association. Principal Charlie Marello shared the school’s pride in their achievements, noting, “When I got the call that we won both, that’s unprecedented at Niceville High School.”
Diehl ranked first in his class of 475 with a 4.77 weighted GPA, serves as captain of the boys’ lacrosse team, and has led the team to state playoff appearances. He is also dedicated to service, raising $5,000 for the nonprofit Bed 4 Me.
Diehl is pursuing a congressional nomination to attend a United States service academy.
Broutin, an All-State volleyball player with multiple school records, pairs her athletic success with academic excellence, maintaining a 4.77 weighted GPA. She plans to continue her academic and athletic career at the collegiate level.
Superintendent Marcus Chambers praised the pair, saying, “Max and Sophie embody the excellence we strive for in Okaloosa County schools. Their dedication to academics, athletics, and community service is extraordinary.”
“The Okaloosa County School District extends heartfelt congratulations to Max and Sophie on this outstanding achievement and thanks the All Sports Association for recognizing and supporting exceptional student-athletes,” the Okaloosa County School District said in a statement.
