More than 100 COVID cases in Okaloosa schools first week

NICEVILLE, Fla. — There are 114 COVID-19 cases among students and teachers/staff in Okaloosa County public schools according to the Okaloosa County School District which today issued an update to its initial COVID-19 report on the first week of school.

The school district has partnered with the Florida Department of Health in Okaloosa County to identify positive cases for both students and staff. The report is for the period Tuesday, August 10 – Tuesday, August 17 (7:50 a.m.).

According to the report, there are 15 student cases in schools in Niceville and Valparaiso and two teachers/staff cases.

Crestview High has the highest number of student cases at 19.

“As this is the first week of school, please note that there are very likely additional positive cases that DOH has yet to report that will be captured as information is updated,” the school district announced on its website.

The spreadsheet below identifies positive cases for both students and staff that have been reported for the period of Tuesday, August 10 – Tuesday, August 17 (7:50 a.m.).
