NICEVILLE, Fla. — The Okaloosa County School Board has approved the appointment of Jordan Berry as the new principal of Bluewater Elementary School.

Mr Berry, a seasoned educator passionate about fostering student success, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his new role.

Born and raised in Bradenton, Florida, Berry graduated from Manatee High School in 2003. He then pursued his bachelor’s degree in history at the University of West Florida.

In 2008, Mr Berry began his educational career at Escambia High School in Pensacola. There, he not only shared his knowledge as an instructor for intensive reading, world history, and U.S. history but also coached cross country, soccer, and baseball teams.

While in Pensacola, Mr. Berry found his partner in life, his wife Liz, and they built a family together with their two children. In 2014, he joined the Lewis School community, continuing his dedication to teaching social studies while leading the baseball team.

Mr. Berry’s commitment to continuous learning led him to pursue a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of West Florida, which he obtained in 2018.

Berry was appointed dean of students the following year and became assistant principal in 2019. He was named the Elementary Assistant Principal of the Year for 2024.
