Lane closures set for Okaloosa, Walton roads this week

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has announced traffic disruptions this week on major state roads in Okaloosa and Walton counties as crews continue maintenance and construction projects.

OKALOOSA COUNTY

— Brooks Bridge Replacement Project:
Alternating lane closures on U.S. 98 between Ferry Road and Pier Road, and on Santa Rosa Boulevard from east of Amberjack Drive to Ross Marler Park, Sunday, July 27 through Thursday, July 31, from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for utility work and construction activities.

— Interstate 10 Resurfacing from west of Yellow River to east of Shoal River:
Alternating lane closures between mile markers 50 and 60, Sunday through Thursday, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for striping operations.

— U.S. 98 Resurfacing from Josie Road to Florida Place Southeast:
Intermittent lane closures between Josie Road in Mary Esther and Florida Place Southeast in Fort Walton Beach, Sunday through Thursday, from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for signalization work and thermoplastic striping.

— State Road 85 Improvements from State Road 123 to Hospital Drive:
Single-lane closures northbound between State Road 123 and Shoal River Bridge from 8 p.m. to 2 p.m., and southbound between Shoal River Bridge and State Road 123 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday through Thursday.

— State Road 85 Resurfacing and Safety Improvements from Hospital Drive to U.S. 90:
Intermittent lane closures, Sunday through Thursday, from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for paving operations.

— I-10 Resurfacing from east of Shoal River Bridge to west of State Road 285:
Alternating westbound lane closures between mile markers 59 and 70, Sunday through Thursday, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for paving operations.

— U.S. 98 Routine Maintenance near State Road 293 (Spence Parkway):
Intermittent nighttime lane closures Tuesday and Wednesday, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. for routine maintenance.

WALTON COUNTY

— U.S. 331 Resurfacing from south of I-10 to U.S. 90:
Construction work Sunday through Thursday will cause the northbound outside right-turn lane at the U.S. 90 intersection to close. One northbound left-turn lane and one shared left- and right-turn lane will remain open. The U.S. 90 westbound outside lane between 11th Street and U.S. 331 will also be closed, with one westbound travel lane and one left-turn lane open.

— U.S. 98 Intersection Improvements at U.S. 331:
Intermittent lane closures Sunday through Thursday, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for paving operations.

— State Road 83 Routine Utility Maintenance from Bruce Avenue to Bob Sikes Road:
Intermittent lane closures Tuesday, July 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for utility work.

All work is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of rain. According to the FDOT, drivers should exercise caution when traveling through work zones, especially at night, and watch for crews and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
