It’s time to make plans to attend the Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center’s (ECCAC) annual signature event, the Kieran May Memorial Golf and Gala Weekend, March 1st and 2nd.
The weekend kicks off with the Gala at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa. Guests will enjoy dinner; dancing and entertainment by professional DJ Joey Boudreaux with his Emerald Coast Mobile DJ music; live and silent auctions; and a wine wall. The Gala is an energetic, yet important black tie optional fund raising event to benefit children by providing services to help identify, treat and support them in abusive situations. The popular golf tournament follows on Sunday, March 2, at Kelly Plantation Golf course with a noon tee time.
The event is in memory of Kieran May, who passed away in 2012. He was a major supporter of ECCAC. As owner of Coastal Business Products, he was the golf tournament chair for three years and served on the Board for six years.
“The Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center was absolutely Kieran’s charity of choice,” commented his widow, Caroline May. “He would be happy that the golf tournament is in his honor, but truly, Kieran was in it solely to heal the children. Not the notoriety or for any reason other than to benefit children. I know Kieran would be quite pleased that our son, Patrick, is now co-chairing the golf tournament, and two of our three grandchildren will be playing in it this year.”
ECCAC is seeking sponsors, auction items, attendees and golfers. The Golf Title sponsor is Isagenix and other sponsors include Coastal Accounting, Coastal Business Products, Amy and Wayne Rogers, Mike and Valerie Thompson, CCB Community Bank, Toshiba and the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa.
Kieran May Memorial Golf tournament cost per person is $400, which includes two tickets to the Gala. Gala tickets are $100 per person. Please call 850.833.9237, Ext. 222 to make reservations, or go to www.GolfandGala2014.charityhappenings.org to purchase tickets online. For further information on ECCAC, visit www.eccac.org.
